Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Best Family Dog Breeds (“we”, “us”, “the Site”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit bestfamilydogbreeds.com. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
Best Family Dog Breeds, operated by an individual based in China, is the data controller responsible for your personal data. You can reach us at [email protected].
Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo to create and manage your account.
- Content you submit. Votes, comments, and any text you post. Comments are public.
- Feedback & messages. When you use our feedback widget, contact form, quick surveys, or live chat, we store what you send — including an optional email address you provide for a reply — so we can respond and improve the Site.
- Photos you upload. Images you submit to our AI breed identifier or cartoonizer are processed to provide the result and may be stored so you can revisit them in your account.
Information collected automatically
- Usage & device data. Pages visited, referring URLs, browser type, device, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
- Cookies and similar technologies. Used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure traffic. We do not currently use cookies to serve advertising (see the Advertising section below).
How we use information
- To provide and operate the Site, including accounts, votes, comments, and AI tools.
- To maintain security, prevent abuse, and debug problems.
- To understand how the Site is used so we can improve our content and tools.
- If we introduce advertising in the future, to display ads that help keep the Site free (see the Advertising section below).
Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies (for sign-in and security) and, with your consent, analytics cookies. We do not currently display advertising cookies. Specifically:
- Strictly necessary cookies. Keep you signed in and keep the Site secure. These are required for the Site to work and are always on.
- Analytics cookies (Microsoft Clarity). Microsoft Clarity uses cookies to capture heatmaps, scroll behavior, and session replays on public pages, helping us fix layout issues. Clarity is loaded only after you accept our cookie banner.
- Privacy-friendly analytics (Plausible, OpenPanel). Lightweight, privacy-focused analytics that do not use cookies to identify you individually.
Cookie consent banner. On your first visit we show a cookie banner with Accept and Declineoptions. Analytics cookies (Microsoft Clarity) are set only if you click Accept; if you decline or ignore the banner, they are not loaded. Your choice is remembered so you are not asked again, and you can change it by clearing the Site's cookies. You can also control or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. If you are in the EEA, UK, or California, you have additional rights regarding your personal data — see "Your rights & choices" below.
Advertising
We do not currently show ads. In the future we may display ads served by Google AdSense and other advertising partners. If we do, those third parties (including Google) may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites; we will update this policy, and you will be able to opt out as described below.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to the Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices.
Analytics
We may use Plausible Analytics to understand aggregate traffic, popular pages, referrers, devices, and general location patterns. This data is used in aggregate and is not used to identify you personally.
We may use a self-hosted OpenPanel instance for product analytics, including events, cohorts, retention, and logged-in versus anonymous usage patterns. When you sign in, we may associate activity with an internal account identifier so we can understand repeat usage and improve the Site; we do not need to send your password, payment details, or private account content to analytics tools.
We may also use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors interact with public pages through heatmaps, scroll behavior, and session replays. We use this to spot broken layouts, confusing navigation, and pages where visitors get stuck. Sensitive form fields are masked by default and are not captured in session recordings.
Third-party services we rely on
We share limited information with service providers that help us run the Site, including:
- Google — sign-in (OAuth). We do not currently use Google for advertising.
- Crisp — live chat support, if enabled (so we can answer questions in real time).
- Plausible Analytics — aggregate website traffic analytics.
- OpenPanel — self-hosted product analytics, events, cohorts, and retention.
- Microsoft Clarity — public-page heatmaps and session replay diagnostics.
- Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure.
- Cloudflare — content delivery and image storage (R2).
- AI processing providers — to power the breed identifier and cartoonizer when you use them.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security terms.
Payments
When you buy a sticker pack, payment is processed by our Merchant of Record, Creem (creem.io). Your card details are entered on Creem's secure checkout and are never seen or stored by us. We store your account email address and a record of what you purchased in order to give you access to your downloads and to resolve any support requests. Creem handles billing, tax compliance, and payment security on our behalf; please refer to creem.io for information on how they handle your payment data.
Data retention
We keep account information for as long as your account is active. Content you post remains until you or we remove it. Photos you upload to our AI tools are retained only as long as needed to provide the result and let you revisit them in your account, and are deleted when you delete your account or on request. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time.
Your rights & choices
- Access, correct, or delete your account data by contacting us.
- Manage advertising cookies via the opt-out links above.
- Depending on your location (for example, the EEA/UK or California), you may have additional rights over your personal data.
Legal bases (GDPR)
Where GDPR applies, we rely on: your consent (for non-essential cookies), performance of a contract (to deliver purchases you make), and our legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Site).
Children’s privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK, where a higher age applies), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will remove it.
International visitors
We operate globally, and your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own — including the United States, where our hosting and database providers operate. Where we transfer the personal data of EEA or UK users internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We’ll revise the “Last updated” date above when we do, and significant changes will be reflected on this page.
